Diamond Carat Weight
Carats are the units of weight for diamonds (often abbreviated to be 'cts'). People generally understand the size of a diamond in terms of its weight, to put it simply a 2ct diamond is 'bigger' than a 1ct diamond.
One carat is made up of '100 points' and weighs 200 milligrams. The weight of smaller diamonds are often expressed as points, not carats, so a '20 point' diamond is a 1/5 of a carat and 0.20cts.
In Summary;
1 carat = 200 milligrams actual weight 1 carat = 100 points 1/5 carat = 20 points is described as 0.20cts and is 40 milligrams
The images below give an indication of how large certain weights of diamond are. Please be aware that this is only a guide.

It’s worth remembering that size isn't everything.
